GRAPHIC DESIGN
The curated projects below demonstrate my breadth of experience in visual identity, marketing and advertising, publication, and illustration design. Designing everything from large-scale exhibition graphics to favicons challenges and continuously improves my design skills. I work closely with production and installation teams to ensure accuracy of digital and physical materials, and to learn how to design with their processes in mind.
I designed this logo collaboratively with the founding members of the national Digitization Coordination Network, a community of peers from natural history institutions sharing resources for digitization.
These are variations on the Digitization Coordination Network logo, as the group plans to use it across many different channels, digital and physical.
I have also designed logos and other visual identity materials outside of work, such as this logo for a local fitness group.

Visual Identity Design
I am experienced in all aspects of visual identity design including logos, type choice, color palettes, and creating style guides. Logos I designed for a national collections group, galleries in a historic building, and a local fitness class are highlighted here.
Marketing + Advertising Design
I have created a wide range of digital and physical marketing and advertising materials for cultural and community organizations. I enjoy engaging with the entire process, from brainstorming and design to production and distribution.
I create and manage digital signage, primarily to promote exhibitions. These are examples of a digital sign for a horizontal screen and two scrollable social media panels for Instagram.

I have designed marketing and advertising materials of all sizes. The design on the left is a postcard-sized show card, and the design on the right is for four large banners intended for the building exterior to advertise the galleries inside.

I was commissioned to design two issues of a research journal called Law & Disorder, which featured student research as well as poetry from incarcerated teens. I redesigned the outdated cover for Issue 6. You can view the entire publication at the provided link.

Publication Design

Illustration Design
Illustration complements all the other types of design I do, as illustrations add to the attractiveness and visual cohesion of designs across various mediums. Vector illustrations are particularly flexible for this purpose.
This is my first paleoart, created for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science's Hall of Ancient Life. It is a Pennsylvanian fish discovered in the Kinney Brick Quarry.
I designed this vector illustration for an email campaign and social media around the holidays. This campaign thanked donors and other stakeholders for their investment in University Collections.
In general, I create my own vector illustrations as assets for other design work, rather than using stock illustrations. This avoids copyright issues, and is frankly more fun!
